Given:

AE = AC + CE = 4 + 12 = 16

BE = BD + DE = 4⅔ + 14 = 14/3 + 14 = 56/3

To Prove:

AB || CD

Now,

By converse of ∆ proportionality theorem

EC/CA = ED/DB

12/4 = 14/4⅔

3 = 14 ÷ 14/3

3 = 14 × 3/14

3 = 3

L H S = R H S

HENCE PROVED!
