The image of the point ( 3 , − 5 ) (3,−5) under a translation is ( 8 , − 4 ) (8,−4). Find the coordinates of the image of the point ( − 4 , − 6 ) (−4,−6) under the same translation.

Answer:

(1,-5)

Explanation:

first find the rule of the first translation

it went from (3,-5) to (8,-4)

meaning 5 was added to the x value to get from 3 to 8 and 1 was added to the y value to get from -5 to -4

so the rule is (x+5, y+1)

apply that to the next point (-4,-6) where -4 is the x value and -6 is the y value

-4+5=1

-6+1=-5

(1,-5) is the coordinate
