There are 2 squares, 2 triangles, 2 hexagons, and 2 circles in a teacher's bag of shapes. If a student randomly selects 1 shape from the bag, what is the probability that student selects a circle?

First, find the total amount of shapes in the bag by adding the amounts of each shape together

That’s 2+2+2+2 which equals 8

Because there are 8 different shapes and we know 2 of those 8 shapes are circles, the probability of getting a circle is 2/8.

This can be simplified to 1/4
