I will not do it for you, but as someone who wrote a speech that got a really good grade, I will help you:
1) Introduce what you will be speaking about in the introduction. Perhaps start the introduction with a rhetorical question to draw in the audience. (I personally started my speech with 3 rhetorical questions.)
Here’s an idea of how you could lay out your introduction:
All of us are human beings, with lives to live and potentials to fulfil. Do you think someone’s suffering and potentially someone’s death, should be because of how much money they have? Sickness is unavoidable, it will happen to all of us. Do you think we should have to pay for our survival?
Today I’ll be speaking about why good healthcare should be available to all people. l’ll talk about what healthcare is, and why it’s so important. I’ll also go over how many countries have access to free, good healthcare and how many don’t have access at all. Lastly, I’ll tell the reasons you why good healthcare must be available to all people, no matter what.
Of course, you can talk about different points/things mentioned in the introduction, but they’re suggestions. It’s just an idea of how you could lay out your introduction. Do the rhetorical questions draw you in?
And there are many other factors preventing access to good healthcare, not just money. Some include distance/location and waiting times.
2) The main body. Speak about what you’d say you’d speak about in the introduction. Keep it on point and include facts and/or statistics. For example:
DON’T say: Lots of people don’t have access to good healthcare.
DO say: up to 3.5 billion people don’t have access to the good health services they need, that is HALF of the world’s population. Why is that?
(Remember to get your statistics from a reliable, and NOT out of date source. Example: a reliable says 400 million don’t have access to essential healthcare, but that was in 2015. The same source says 3.5 billion in 2022.)
Make up 3 reasons why you think everyone should have access to good healthcare when you tell everyone why it’s important.
3) Conclusion. Consider the conclusion as: if you had to summarise everything you just spoke about in 30 seconds in one paragraph. KEEP IT SHORT.
You can start it with “So in conclusion…” or “So in summary…”
4) Confidence. If you are performing, PRACTICE countless times at home. I practiced so many times for mine, and I accidentally learned my whole speech off by heart! That made me very confident to perform as I had learned it so well. Practice in front of family and friends and accept their feedback.
