In golf, par is the (B) typical number of strokes needed to complete a hole.
Par is a term used in golf to describe the number of strokes a skilled golfer should be able to complete a particular hole or course in. It is determined based on the length and difficulty of the hole or course. A golfer's score for a particular hole is then compared to the par for that hole to determine whether they scored above par (meaning they took more strokes than the expected number), below par (took fewer strokes), or at par (took the expected number of strokes). The overall score for a round of golf is also compared to the total par for the course to determine a golfer's performance.
