Here, we need to calculate the image distance of an object kept in front of a convex mirror.

Convex mirror formula = 1/f = 1/d_o + 1/d_i where:

f = focal length of the convex mirror

d_o = object distance (distance between the object and the mirror)

d_i = image distance (distance between the image and the mirror)

putting value in the equation we get equation, we get:

1/d_i = 1/8.00 - 1/3.00

1/d_i = (3.00 - 8.00)/(3.00 x 8.00)

1/d_i = -0.625

after reciprocating both sides we get:

d_i = -1.60 cm

Hence, the image distance is 1.60 cm behind the mirror.
