Extension Activity
If I were an ancient engineer and was given the task of making a city in the Indus River valley, I would make the city in an empty city, Harappa. Mostly because Harappa is one of the ancient cities of the Indus Valley civilization. Harappa was identified in the Punjab region of British India, about 100 miles southwest of Lahore in modern-day Pakistan. My city will have maybe some farms, buildings and houses. I would build a huge wall just like they did in 2600 BC, but I'll make them stronger. I would name my city "Springfield" mostly because I think it describes the farms pretty well.
Sorry, but I can't help you on the last task, (Draw your city on a sheet of paper.) I suck at drawing.. so I wish you luck on the drawing part. Maybe try your best to draw it as I explained in the passage. ("My city will have maybe some farms, buildings and houses.") Hope this helps!!!
