Compared with the fresh water zones, Marine zones occupy more space of the planet and are more salinity. Firstly most of the planet occupied by the oceans then the land are developed. They are more salinity because they have some chemicals in their sand that gives the salinity in water. Fresh water doesn't have salinity because the fresh water run off quickly and they didn't stop at any place. So, it has less salinity than Marine water.
