the volume of any such shape (basic 2D shape stretched up) is always

ground area × height.

the ground area here is the area of the basic triangle.

the area of a triangle is

baseline × height / 2

the baseline here is 2.5 in.

the height here is 4.75 in.

so, the area of the basic triangle is

2.5 × 4.75 / 2 = 5.9375 in²

we know the actual volume : 11.875 in³

so, we know

5.9375 × h = 11.875

h = 11.875 / 5.9375 = 2 in

the height of the cheese wedge is 2 in.
