both cultures generally die out quickly because of the build up of metabolic wastes. why is this less of a problem with slant cultures?

Answer: In slant cultures bacteria can not reach food easily, diffusion dynamics are important for foods and metabolic wastes.

Explanation: In broth cultures bacteria can reach every food easily and directly, grow faster, last shorter, like put flame on oil directly.
