step 1: add 3x^2 to both sides

x - 6 + 3x^2 = 0

step 2: put the terms in order from greatest degree (exponent) to least.

3x^2 + x - 6 = 0

The quadratic equation layout is ax^2 + bx + c.

So if you rearrange accordingly, its -3x^2+x-6!
