Area

1) formula for the area of a circle =
r^(2)\pi

The diameter is 2 which means the radius is 1

so the area of the circle is equal to π

2) to find the area of a square you multiply the sides

2x2=4

So to find the total area you add
\pi +4

which leaves us with
\pi +4

Perimeter

1) the formula for the perimeter of a circle =
2\pi r

Since the radius is 1

the perimeter of both circles is 4π

2) to find the perimeter of only part of the square (two sides), you have to add them together

2+2=4

So the total perimeter is 4π+4
