Yet, if I had to choose between having lifelong access to doctors or lifelong access to teachers, I would choose the teachers.
Everyone in society is first educated by teachers, from preschool through high school. Teachers instruct children in nursery and elementary schools as well as secondary school students, undergraduates in universities, and even postgraduates. All literate people, both young and elderly, are educated by teachers. Physicians are also included. Teachers also instructed them! Any civilization without teachers is actually doomed.
