Explanation:

{-8x + 3y = -14;

Multiply the first equation by -1, so that we could eliminate 8x:

+ {8x - y = -6,

{-8x + 3y = -14;

y = -5

Now, make x the subject from the first equation (you can do it from the 2nd one instead):

8x = -6 + y / : 8

x = -0,75 + 0,125y
