During the first year, every 4 months there is a 2% raise in hourly pay.
At the end of one year, how much would Remika be paid hourly, to the nearest cent?

At the end of each 4 month period, Remika's hourly pay will increase by 2%.

After one year, or 3 periods of 4 months each, her hourly pay will be:

$8.50 * 1.02 * 1.02 * 1.02 = $9.18 (rounded to the nearest cent)

Therefore, after one year, Remika would be paid $9.18 per hour.
