This is not necessarily a study question, more of an advice, please help,

I am very passionate about singing and dancing, I am planning to become a k-pop idol. I am gonna sign up to become a trainee but my parents are not approving it. I don't want to disobey them but I also don't want to give up my dream. How do I convince them

I was once like you, i wanted to be a k-pop idol

but I never actually auditioned and i'm glad

The industry has a set idea of beauty which is skinny

the training is also very harsh even though some companies are less strict about it

however if you feel that k-pop is truly your passion talk to your parents and offer a backup plan

something like "Hey mom and dad I truly want to become an idol, I need your support in this. I don't want to go against you in any way but I truly love singing and dancing and want to do this for the rest of my life but I know everything comes to an end so I promise to go to university to get -insert degree- as my backup plan"

Answer: Have a backup plan.

Explanation: Being a K-pop idol is a like having really strict parents in a prison. Its not worth it because of the cause on your mental state and your body. If you cant handle physical and mental harassment 24/7 you might as well give up now. (Coming from someone who failed in this.)
