A stone is thrown horizontally from a vertical cliff at a speed of 20 meters per second. The cliff is 30 meters above sea level and the

stone hits the sea after 2.5 seconds.
How far from the base of the cliff is the stone when it hits the sea? (g = 10 m/s)

Answer:

Below

Step-by-step explanation:

Find out how long it takes to fall the 30 m ....then use this time and the horizontal velocity to find the answer

For vertical : d = 1/2 a t^2

30 = 1/2 (10) t^2 so t = sqrt 6

Horizontal velocity * time = distance from cliff base

20 m/s * sqrt 6 = 48.99 = ~ 49 meters
