Why does communism work in theory, but not in practice???

It works in theory because everyone having an equal amount of money and goods is a great idea, nobody will complain and everyone will work and prosper. However people are not willing to continually keep the work rate necessary to keep communism alive. In short people tend to get lazy

The whole idea fn Communism is contrary to the nature of mankind.The bigger question to me is “Why did the so-called ideal perfect community become the home of totalitarianism?As for capitalism it, in theory, allowed the greatest freedom and most diverse solutions to a problem. The problem is it leaves too many by the wayside.
