We can easily say that the following about this question:

  • Functions are polynomial expressions.
  • Arithmetic operations are performed between coefficients of terms of the same degree. Coefficients of different degrees are written as they are, without being changed.


f(x)=x^2-x+1 and
g(x)=2x+3 can be combined as;


  • f(x)+g(x)=x^2+(2-1)x+(3+1)

  • f(x)+g(x)=x^2+x+4
