Have you ever looked back at old media? For example, have you seen paintings of women from the Renaissance period? You may have noticed that women were portrayed as heavier than we might see in beauty magazines today. Or how about early TV shows with characters who smoked onscreen? Is that common on most television shows or commercials now?

This brings up the question: How does society’s perception of what is normal influence people’s health and habits? Discuss your opinion on this, giving examples to support it. Then predict one habit of society today that will be looked upon very differently in the future.

How does society’s perception of what is normal influence people’s health and habits?

Answer: Changing behaviors may be easier when people see norms changing, Stanford research finds.

Reason: In a study, people ate less meat and conserved more water when they thought those behaviors reflected how society is changing. The findings could point to new ways of encouraging other behavior changes.

Predict one habit of society today that will be looked upon very differently in the future.

Answer: Technology.

Reason: Technology will enable financial stability and discipline without the need for people to gain relevant knowledge. AI and machine learning advisors will become ubiquitous, constantly recommending the next gig, next investment or next online class to us, truly democratizing growth and financial well being.

Hope this helps!! <33
