Ignore the diagonal lengths.
All you need for triangular area is the base length and the height:

A=1/2•b•h

Add 3 and 6 for the total base of 9. So,

A= 1/2 (9) (8)

This gives you and Area of 36 meters squared.

Hope this helps!

Explanation:

Area of a triangle = 1/2 * base * height

For this triangle base = 9 m height = 8 m

1/2 ( 9 ) ( 8) = 36 m^2
