1. Giverny is popular among tourists because of a particularly famous former resident. Claude Monet, the famous Impressionist painter, spent the last years of his life in Giverny and painted some of his most popular works there.
2. Housed in a Beaux-Arts train station opened in 1900, the Musée d'Orsay is worth visiting if only for the building itself. It houses the largest collection of Impressionist art in the world, with all the big names represented.
