Hi i need help checking 12x + 9 = - 15
i know the answer ( x = 2) i just need help checking!!

well actually, your answer is -2

not positive 2

you have to take the 9, and subtract it from the other side (the -15), giving you -24

then you divide -24 by 12, giving you x=-2

this is true because when you plug it back in, you get 12 x -2 = -24

-24 + 9 = -15
