1 + 3?

I'm really struggling with this difficult equation, you see, ever since it appeared on my handout and was required for graduation, I've had many countless restless nights, I've had to call in sick and have extra days just to have work on this particular equation, the amount of stress and anxiety I have gained from this is unfathomable and remarkably frustrating, I can barely go 20 minutes in class anymore before I feel a upper stomach pain, everyone tells me its anxiety, and I don't care, it is impossible to bare anymore. I have had a lot and I mean a LOT, of panic attacks, some related to past PTSD of mathematics, and others, well, other. I have also noticed that whenever I see such problem on papers I have a mental internal breakdown, this process completely shuts my body down and I can barely function into doing my work anymore. So I have resorted to internet tactics, please, answer my question. What is 1 + 3?
Thank you to anyone who answers for not only relieving me of some of my new found potential trauma, but also clearing my of the denial that people have the witts to actually solve such a mind turning face heatening expression of characters.
I deeply really appreciate it, I have a good day.
I'll put the problem one more time in case people did not see the others

Answer:

4

Explanation:

Addition is grouping things together and counting the total.

1 is simply 1. Think of 1 stick, I

3 is 3 sticks: III

Now put them together: I and III or simply IIII.

Count the number of stick in III.

There are 4 sticks, so 3 + 1 = 4

I hope this relives your anxiety.
