Reread this poem from the module. As you read, think about what kind of poem it is.

Silence
Even though he’s everywhere,
he’s never seen nor heard.
Few can stand to be alone with him
and anyway, one breath, one movement
—and he’s gone, shy as a bird.
Most prefer to ignore him
although he asks nothing
of them and can be trusted
to keep their deepest secrets.
I once met him in a sunny
summer field—and again
on the whitest day in winter.
We sat together for a while
but no words passed between us.

Is this a persona poem or simply a poem that uses personification? What clues in the poem help you decide?

Answer: I think it's personification because the poem makes it seem like silence is a person.
