Answer:

$41.40
2.5x + 4.2y

Explanation:

Cost for each large box = $4.20

Cost for each small box = $2.50

How much would it be to get 3 smalls and 8 larges?
Total cost = 3(2.5) + 8(4.2) = 7.5 + 33.6 = 41.1
So the cost of 3 small boxes and 8 large boxes would be $41.40.

How much is it for x small boxes and y large boxes?
Write an expression to represent the situtation with two variables, x and y.

2.5x + 4.2y
