Please Help!!

Lui says that you have to combine like terms when you multiply a monomial and a binomial. He gave the following example: 2x(3 - 5x) = 6x - 10x = -4x. Do you agree or disagree with Lui? Explain your reasoning.

Answer - disagree with Lui

You are given
2x(3 - 5x) = 6x - 10x = -4x.

Do you agree or disagree with Lui? Disagree, -4x is incorrect

Explain your reasoning.

When you distribute multiply 2x (3 - 5x)
2x * 3 and 2x * -5x = 6x - 10x^2

6x -10x^2 is your answer, you cannot simplify it any further because x and x^2 are not like terms
