Explain why the expression "five less than a number" cannot be the same as "a number less than five".

Answer:

because "five less of a number (n)" could be any number. Five less of a number is any number subtracted by 5. n - 5 ----> 17 - 5 = 12 (12 is NOT less than 5). "a number less than five" any number that is smaller than five.

“Five less than a number” is when your subtracting a number from 5, meanwhile the other is when a number is less than five as in amount wise
