dividing the number of successful throws by the total number of throws:

number of successful throws = 12

total number of throws = 18

probability of hitting the target on the next throw = number of successful throws : total number of throws:

probability of hitting the target on the next throw = 12 : 18

hitting the target on the next throw = 0.6667 or 67%

approximate probability of emily hitting the target on her next throw is 67%
