Can someone please explain to me why when you try to solve this quadratic equation, it's not possible? There is a picture of the question and an explanation, but I don't understand what it means. Please help with full working/explanation. Thanks so much :)

it is coz when u solve for a quadratic equation the number inside the square root has to be positive,

for example, the square root of positive 16 is 4
which means 4^2 is positive 16

but there is no number that is being squared and gives -16
coz -4^2 or -4*-4 is positive 16, which means negative times negative is positive. I hope it has helped you:)
