Hey can someone please help answer this question?

A child rides near the edge of a merry-go-round that rotates on a frictionless axis. If the child walks
toward the center of the merry-go-round, will the angular momentum change if a) the child is the
system? b) the system is the child-merry-go-round

Wouldn’t the two be the same? Because it is simply speaking about the child’s angular momentum?
