The right to due process
Due process is the right to fair treatment within judicial settings. For example someone who is arrested for a crime must legally be notified of the charges against them and their rights in court settings/trials. This amendment also made equal protection in our legal system a federal law.
“nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”
