Answer:
Christmas is my favorite holiday because it's the time of year that transitions into break, and relaxation time. My favorite holiday activities include wrapping gifts with my mom, baking a fabulous, and bountiful meal, and drinking hot cocoa with my family. At the end of the day, I get to sleep on the floor with my siblings and cousins after watching Polar Express. Then, when everything is over, everyone parts ways, and we do it all over again the next year.
After wrapping up the last minute gifts with my mom, there is always a huge mess of tape, and unused wrapping paper. My weenie dog Angel likes to run through it, and make a mess. This makes me laugh every year, sometimes I try to clean as we work, so there is less mess for my mom to worry about later. My mother wraps my gifts early, so that I can participate in decorating each gift with my handmade bows, and decorations. We color-code the gifts with different kinds of wrapping paper, so they don't get lost or mixed up.
Baking Christmas dinner is very stressful, yet it's the meal I look forward to most throughout the year. It's even more prevalent than thanksgiving in my book, because more people gather around. In the kitchen is where I prefer to be, surrounded by the aunts, and grandparents, each pitching in to make a side dish while the main course bakes. The uncles can be found in the living room, drinking cold beers while watching sports. You can hear kids running in and outside, as they enjoy their new gifts. Outside in the backyard, you can find the older cousins playing cornhole, throwing a football around, and sharing stories from previous years.
In conclusion, Christmas brings joy to my life, because I am surrounded by the people I love, and cherish most. Family gatherings are a time when our house is the most alive, there's little to no drama, and at the end of the day, we are all thankful to have one another. It's nice to have something to look forward to every year, no matter the weather conditions, because we all live within driving distance from one another.
