Evaluate f(x) = x^3 + 2x^2 − 11 when x = 3 using the Remainder Theorem.
What is f(3) ?

Solution:-


f(x) = {x}^(3) + 2 {x}^(2) - 11

When x = 3...,


f(3) = {3}^(3) + 2(3) {}^(2) - 11


f(3) = 27 + 2(9) - 11


f(3) = 27 + 18 - 11


f(3) = 45 - 11


f(3) = 34

Therefore, f(3) = 34
