A state seal, which is round, hangs in the capitol building. It has a diameter of 2.2 meters. What is the seal's area?

Use 3.14 for Pi. If necessary, round your answer to the nearest hundredth.

Assuming that the state seal is a circle, to find the area of it we must use the formula
A=pi(r)^2
Since we are given the diameter, we must divide it in half in order to obtain the radius.
2.2/2= 1.1
Plug the values into the formula
A=(3.14)(1.1)^2
A=3.80 meters
