Y = x/2 does that look like y = kx or that doesn’t look like y = kx

Explanation:

y = x/2 = x × 1/2

that is y = kx

with k = 1/2

as y is still getting larger with larger x, and smaller with smaller x.

the opposite would be

y = k/x

where y gets smaller with larger x and larger with smaller x.
