First, we find the discriminant of this quadratic equation : b^2 - 4ac.

In this case, the discriminant is -6^2 - 4 x (-4) x 1 = 36 + 16 = 52.

-> 2 possible roots can be found :
(6+√(52) )/(2) = 6.61 (nearest hundredth) or
(6 - √(52) )/(2) = -0.61
