"What's depression like?" They ask.

Depression is like you're drowning while you can see everyone else breathing. Like seeing everyone living with a spotlight on them while you're dying in the dark. You know all your imperfections and you feel a disconnection from everybody. No energy to live yet no energy to give up and give in to your demons. I feel sorry for those that have given up and given into their demons. You want to find help and support, but at the same time, you don't want anyone's help and support. You're smiling while you're crying and dying on the inside.
But, even though we feel these things, we still fight on. We are here still, aren't we? So, don't try and hurt someone without knowing their true thoughts and feelings. You NEVER know what they may be thinking, feeling, or going through. Try to help others, I do, een though I might hurt myself in the end, at least I help someone stay longer.

Answer:

Don't know what this is asking, but I'll add my own bit if I can.

Having depression while your a helpful person is also like drowning. But you decide it's best if you help the other person drowning, even if that means they have to push you down to get up.
