Answer:

9 nickels

8 dimes

Explanation:

.05(n + 1) + .10n = 1.25

.05n + .05 + .10n = 1.25

.15n = 1.20

n = 1.2 / .15

n = 8

but there are 9 nickels because there is "one more nickel than dimes"

Answer:

She has 9 nickels, and 8 dimes.

Explanation:

We know that she has a total of $1.25. We know that a nickel is $0.05, and that a dime is $0.10.

9x$0.05=$0.45

8x$0.10=$0.80
