A=((a+b)/2)h
Where A is the area, a and b are the bases and h is the height

From the diagram we can determine that
a, the shorter base, is 10 inches
b, the longer base, is 26 inches (8+10+8)
and h, the height, is 8

Plug into the equation
A= ((10+26)/2)8
A=(36/2)8
A=(18)8
A=144

Answer: 144 square inches
