We know, Total surface area of a cuboid= 2(lb+bh+hl)

where, l=length of the cuboid

Since, a rectangular prism holds the shape of a cuboid, therefore it's surface area should also be 2(lb+bh+hl)

Now, surface area of the rectangular prism = 2(4×3+3×7+7×4)

 =2(12+21+28)

 =2×61

 =122 square inches.
