The volume of the composite solid is the total volume of the cube and the hemisphere.

a = side.

V(cube) = a x a x a = 8 x 8 x 8 = 512 (cm3)

V(hemisphere) = 2/3
\pir
r^(3) (r = 1/2a in this case) = 2/3 x 64 x
\pi = 128/3
\pi

Therefore, the total volume = 8/3
\pi + 512 = 646.0 (cm3) (nearest tenth)
