Liping has 300 stamps. 60% of them are U.S. stamps, 24% are Canadian stamps and the rest are European stamps. How many European stamps does she have?

Imagine she only had 100 stamps in total. 60% of 100 would be make 60 U.S. stamps. And then 24% would equal 24 Canadian stamps. Then times 60 and 24 by three to get you your U.S. and Canadian stamps. After that minus the sum of your U.S. and Canadian stamps to get your European stamps. 180 U.S. stamps + 72 Canadian stamps= 252. 252- 300= 48 European stamps.

So the answer is 48 European stamps.

60% + 24% = 84% both us and Canadian stamps
Meaning the rest is European stamps,
So subtract:

100 - 84 = 24% is the percentage of European stamps
24% = 0.24

Multiply
300 x 0.24 = 72

Liping has 72 European stamps.
