The odd numbers 3,5,7 are prime numbers. Is 9 a prime number because it is an odd number? Explain

No a prime number is one that had only 2 factors : 1 and the number itself
9 has 3 factors 1, 3 and 9 so is not prime.

Explanation:

Prime numbers have only two factors 1 and the number itself as such

All prime numbers are odd numbers (even numbers always have a number of 2 as a factor and thus are not prime numbers)

BUT not all odd numbers are prime numbers

9 has factors 1 3 and 9 <=====cannot be prime
