The C value is always the side of the triangle opposite from the 90 degree(the only side that doesnt touch the 90 degree angle)therefor im naming the horrozontal side a, and the vertical side b. therefore

8^2+6^2=c^2

64+36=c^2

100=c^2

**The opposite of ^2 is sqrt. ^2 is the value multiplied by itself, while sqrt gives you the value, that when multiplied gives you the original number. On a calculator sqrt looks like a checkmark.
