Answer:

X^2+10x+16

Explanation:

so you multiply x by x

(x+2)(x+8) -> x^2

than

(x+2)(x+8) -> x^2 + 8x

than

(x+2)(x+8) -> x^2 + 8x + 2x

than

(x+2)(x+8) - > X^2 + 8x + 2x + 16

and you add what you can to simplify so 8x and 2x

x^2 + 10x +16

so it's already in standard form because it goes from the highest power to the lowest.

\huge\text{Hey there!}

\mathtt{(x + 2)(x + 8)}\\\\\large\textsf{DISTRIBUTE \ x\ WITHIN\ the\ PARENTHESES}\\\\\mathtt{\rightarrow x(x) + x(8) + 2(x) + 2(8)}\\\\\mathtt{\rightarrow x(x) + 8(x) + 2(x) + 2(8)}\\\\\mathtt{\rightarrow x^2 + 8x + 2x + 16}\\\\\large\textsf{COMBINE the LIKE TERMS}\\\\\mathtt{\rightarrow x^2 + (8x + 2x) + 16}\\\\\mathtt{\rightarrow x^2 + 8x + 2x + 16}\\\\\mathtt{\rightarrow x^2 + 10x + 16}

\huge\text{Therefore your answer should be:}

\huge\boxed{\mathtt{x^2 + 10x + 16}}\huge\checkmark
