(2*4 + 2*2) - 4 = 8

for the triangle, the hypotenuse, is a^2 + b^2 = c^2

2^2 + 4^2 = c^2

4 + 16 = c^2

c = 4.5cm (rounded to the nearest tenth)

Now we add all the perimeters.

8 + 2*4.5 = 8 + 9 = 17cm
