Predict and explain the impact the changes could have on smokers and long term smokers ability to exchange gas ( dedicated to the alveoli)

Answer:Alveoli are the sites of exchanging gases .There are nearly 1 million Alveoli present in each lungs and aids in respiration by inhaling O2 and washing out CO2 . Continuous smoking can have a drastic impact on the Alveoli and can damage the alveolar walls making them lose their elasticity and often developing a chronic condition such as Emphysema which occurrs in high smokers.
