Tina wants to know if she will win the election for class president. She asks her ten closest friends who they will vote for.

Hi! To the person above me. The question states that Tina asked 10 of her closest friends which is biased. You wrote “She is asking her close friends, which is a biased sample.” The question is asking to find a way to make Tina’s sample unbiased. My answer is she should ask every 3rd person she finds at lunch.

The reason I say this is because a biased sample is where you pick or select certain people over others. Here is an example: Tina asked 5 of her friend what their favorite school lunches were. That is biased.

An unbiased sample is where you choose at random. Here is an example: Tina asked every 10th person at the lunch table. That is unbiased.

My is up there and here also: She should ask every 3rd person she finds at lunch.
