1. It allowed the United States to support its allies without formally entering World War II. The U.S. government could lend or lease war supplies to any nation deemed “vital to the defense of the United States”.

2. It helped tip the balance in favor of Allied nations who were actively fighting against Axis Powers by providing them with much-needed resources such as vehicles, aircraft, weapons, etc.
